Ed3 Weekly Issue #133: Are You Electing to Pay Attention?
With an important election comes some huge impacts on crypto regulations
Hello Ed3 Community,
This has never been a political newsletter, however, I have covered important changes to crypto regulations from time to time.
As crypto-curious educators, we must stay current on the most recent news related to the future of this technology.
With that said, you may have heard about an important election happening this week. Staying within my apolitical ethos, I want to share a deep dive this week that provides a comprehensive overview of the state of crypto in politics.
Regardless of what party you support, the growing impact of the crypto industry on our political system will gain influence over the next few years. As educators, we must be aware of these impacts.
The rest of the newsletter shares several resources on some familiar topics: a blockchain conference in Africa, a crypto education platform, and blockchain innovation with AI.

The crypto trio: How the cryptocurrency industry has made its mark on 2024 elections
This article provides a thorough overview of how the crypto industry is becoming more involved in the political system. And how the political system is becoming more involved with the crypto industry.
In the 2024 election cycle alone three pro-crypto super PACs have invested over $133 million to support crypto-friendly candidates and influence policy. Will these large crypto donations drown out the voice of ordinary voters? Could it lead to crypto-backed candidates being influenced in their policy decisions post-election? If you know anything about the political game this is very likely.
It is important that as engaged citizens we are aware of these changes. As cryptocurrency becomes a bigger part of the economy, its political support can signal shifts in economic policy, job opportunities, and skills required in various fields, including education.
